The story
The "I Have a Dream" World Peace Rose Garden was planted in March 1992 on the Peace Plaza in front of the park visitor center. Its 185 roses are laid out in a starburst, and each year schoolchildren from Georgia, California and Jinan, China, write poems of peace for it; the winning poems are shown on plaques around the front of the garden. It is one of ten major World Peace Rose Gardens around the world. Stand facing the roses and you see the tomb of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King straight across the street. Nearby stands Behold, a bronze father lifting his infant daughter to the sky, unveiled by Mrs. King on January 11, 1990. The visitor center behind the garden is closed for renovation.

La Rosaleda Mundial de la Paz "I Have a Dream" se plantó en marzo de 1992 en la Plaza de la Paz, frente al centro de visitantes del parque. Sus 185 rosales forman una estrella, y cada año escolares de Georgia, de California y de Jinan, en China, escriben poemas de paz para ella; los ganadores se muestran en placas en la parte delantera del jardín.
