The story
After the great Atlanta fire of May 21, 1917, farmers began selling livestock and produce under a tent near the center of the city. The Atlanta Women's Club raised money for a fireproof brick hall, designed by A. Ten Eyck Brown, which opened on May 1, 1924 as the Municipal Market of Atlanta. Black Atlantans could shop inside, but Black vendors were made to sell outside along the curb, and the name Sweet Auburn Curb Market was adopted in the 1990s. Today it is a covered market of butchers, produce stands and food counters, open Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the end of the Sweet Auburn walk.

Tras el gran incendio de Atlanta del 21 de mayo de 1917, los agricultores empezaron a vender ganado y productos bajo una carpa cerca del centro de la ciudad.
