The story
The APEX Museum, the African American Panoramic Experience, was founded in 1978 by the filmmaker Dan Moore Sr. and calls itself the oldest African American history museum in Atlanta. Its galleries begin with ancient African history and come home to Sweet Auburn, with a re-created window of the Yates and Milton Drug Store, heir to the Gate City drug store of Moses Amos, the first registered Black pharmacist in Georgia. Its featured exhibit, Sweet Auburn: Before, During and Beyond 1906, tells of the Atlanta Race Massacre of September 1906, when white mobs killed dozens of Black Atlantans, and of the community that rebuilt. It is open Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with last entry at 2 p.m.

El Museo APEX, la African American Panoramic Experience, lo fundó en 1978 el cineasta Dan Moore Sr., y se presenta como el museo de historia afroamericana más antiguo de Atlanta. Sus salas empiezan con la historia antigua de África y terminan en Sweet Auburn, con el escaparate recreado de la farmacia Yates and Milton, heredera de la farmacia Gate City de Moses Amos, el primer farmacéutico negro registrado de Georgia.
