The story
Savannah City Hall opened on January 2, 1906, a Renaissance Revival building in granite and limestone designed by the Savannah architect Hyman W. Witcover and built in 1904 and 1905. It replaced the City Exchange, built in 1799 and razed in 1904.
The dome is the landmark you see from the river. It was copper at first, and it was first gold leafed in 1987.
Stand on Bay Street and look south. City Hall sits at the head of Bull Street, and Bull Street runs straight from here through the squares of Oglethorpe's plan to Forsyth Park. Every square on this walk hangs off that one line.

El Ayuntamiento de Savannah se inauguró el 2 de enero de 1906: un edificio neorrenacentista de granito y piedra caliza, diseñado por el arquitecto de Savannah Hyman W. Witcover y construido en 1904 y 1905. Sustituyó al City Exchange, construido en 1799 y demolido en 1904.
