The story
The Pantages Theater opened on January 7, 1918, at 901 Broadway, a vaudeville house on Alexander Pantages's circuit, designed by the Seattle architect B. Marcus Priteca, whom HistoryLink calls America's foremost designer of theatres. The theatres' own history says it was designed in the tradition of the Palace of Versailles. Films became its main draw from the 1930s, it was the Roxy through the 1960s, and after years of decline it was restored in 1983. A block west on Ninth Street stands the Rialto, a movie house of September 1918, and the Theatre on the Square of 1993 completes the group.

El teatro Pantages abrió el 7 de enero de 1918 en el 901 de Broadway, como sala de vodevil del circuito de Alexander Pantages, diseñada por el arquitecto de Seattle B. Marcus Priteca, a quien HistoryLink llama el principal diseñador de teatros de Estados Unidos. La historia de los propios teatros dice que se diseñó en la tradición del Palacio de Versalles.
