The only hotel in the park open all year: the Longmire Springs Hotel's annex, moved across the road, which became the National Park Inn after the first inn burned in 1926.
The story
James Longmire's family ran the first lodging at Longmire, across the road. In 1906 the park leased this side to the Tacoma and Eastern Railroad Company, whose National Park Inn competed with them. The Longmire Springs Hotel Company then built a two story annex in the meadow, and the Rainier National Park Company, which bought the hotels, moved it across the road beside the inn and took down the old Longmire hotel. The first National Park Inn burned in 1926; the annex survived and took its name.
The Park Service rehabilitated the building in 1989. It has 25 rooms and a restaurant, and it is the only lodging in the park open all year. The general store next door began as the inn's clubhouse. The park recommends the front porch as a good place to sit, with a view of the mountain.

La familia de James Longmire tuvo el primer alojamiento de Longmire, al otro lado de la carretera. En 1906 el parque arrendó este lado a la Tacoma and Eastern Railroad Company, cuyo National Park Inn les hizo la competencia.
