The story
Historic Market Square is a three block plaza of shops, stalls and restaurants that the City of San Antonio says is famously described as the largest Mexican market outside Mexico. Its El Mercado building went up in 1938 to 1939 as a Works Progress Administration project, the Municipal Truck Market, where farmers sold produce from their trucks. The last produce was sold in 1975, and the building became an air conditioned mercado. It is the main stage for Cinco de Mayo and other festivals.
Open daily 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; restaurants keep their own hours. Ask before photographing vendors.

El Mercado Histórico es una plaza de tres cuadras con tiendas, puestos y restaurantes que, según la Ciudad de San Antonio, se conoce como el mayor mercado mexicano fuera de México. Su edificio de El Mercado se levantó en 1938 y 1939 como proyecto de la Works Progress Administration, el Mercado Municipal de Camiones, donde los agricultores vendían sus productos desde sus camiones. Los últimos productos se vendieron en 1975, y el edificio se convirtió en un mercado cerrado con aire acondicionado. Es el escenario principal del Cinco de Mayo y de otras fiestas.
Abre todos los días de 10 a. m. a 6 p. m.; los restaurantes tienen su propio horario. Pida permiso antes de fotografiar a los vendedores.

Chợ Lịch sử Market Square là một quảng trường rộng ba dãy phố với cửa hàng, quầy và nhà hàng, được Thành phố San Antonio giới thiệu là nổi tiếng như chợ Mexico lớn nhất bên ngoài Mexico.
