The story
Hing Hay Park, at King Street and Maynard Avenue South, is the public square of the Chinatown International District. Its name means Celebrate Happiness Public Park, or more loosely, Park for Pleasurable Gatherings. The Grand Pavilion was designed and built in Taipei and given by the people of Taipei, and the park doubled in size in 2018.
Filipino restaurants, shops and clubs around Maynard Avenue and King Street once gave this corner the name Manilatown. In 1973 Seattle created the International Special Review District to preserve the area's Asian culture and history; today it takes in Chinatown, Japantown, Manilatown and Little Saigon. The 45 foot Chinatown gate stands at Fifth Avenue and King Street.

El parque Hing Hay, en King Street con Maynard Avenue South, es la plaza pública del Chinatown International District.
