The story
Cook's Meadow is a flat one mile loop in the middle of the valley, about 30 minutes on foot, with some of the best views in Yosemite in every direction: Yosemite Falls, Half Dome, Glacier Point, Sentinel Rock and the Royal Arches.
Walk out onto Sentinel Bridge for the classic view of Half Dome, reflected in the Merced River when the water is calm.
The meadow is also the place to see the whole of Yosemite Falls, upper fall, middle cascades and lower fall, 2,425 feet in all; you cannot see the full height from the foot of the lower fall. In late summer and fall it is often dry, as it was on September 21, 2026. In spring, look for moonbows in high water, and in winter an ice cone at the base of the upper fall that can pass 300 feet.
The loop is wheelchair accessible when free of snow. Stay on the path to protect the meadow.

La Pradera de Cook es un circuito llano de una milla en el centro del valle, de unos 30 minutos a pie, con algunas de las mejores vistas de Yosemite en todas direcciones: las cataratas de Yosemite, el Half Dome, Glacier Point, Sentinel Rock y los Royal Arches.
