The story
The Owens-Thomas House was designed by the English architect William Jay and finished in 1819. It is one of three Telfair Museums sites, and it is shown together with the carriage house and quarters behind it, where enslaved people lived and worked for the families in the house.
That pairing is the point of the visit. The grand rooms and the quarters were one household, and the tour asks you to see them as one: who cooked, cleaned, carried water and raised children here, and what their lives were like a few steps from the parlors.
Telfair's ticket page lists guided tours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., about 50 minutes, booked in person on the day, on a three site ticket of $30 for adults that also covers the Telfair Academy and the Jepson Center for seven days. Its weekly opening days could not be confirmed today, so check before you go.

La Casa Owens-Thomas fue diseñada por el arquitecto inglés William Jay y terminada en 1819. Es una de las tres sedes de los Telfair Museums, y se muestra junto con la cochera y las viviendas de detrás, donde personas esclavizadas vivían y trabajaban para las familias de la casa.
