The story

Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden was completed in 1986 with specialists and materials connected to Suzhou garden traditions. It was designed as an authentic Ming-era scholar’s garden, where architecture, water, limestone, plants and calligraphy form one changing composition.

The garden is not meant to reveal itself in a single photograph. Covered walks slow the body, windows crop views and pale rocks shift against dark water. A few steps can turn the same pond into a different picture.

Follow one framed view until it disappears, then look for the next. Labels and decorative details can support deeper research through Universal Gallery, but the garden’s own interpretation should lead. The paid classical garden and adjacent free public park are distinct spaces with different hours, programs and access.
