The story

Canada Place was built for Expo 86 on the edge of Burrard Inlet and later expanded as Vancouver’s cruise terminal and convention waterfront. Its five white fabric roofs became a city symbol because they read as sails from land, water and air.

The stronger experience is the setting. Seaplanes lift from the harbour, ferries cross toward the North Shore, port cranes move cargo and mountains rise behind all of it. Vancouver’s natural beauty and working economy occupy the same view rather than separate postcards.

Walk the exterior promenade slowly and turn outward at several points. Morning light often clarifies the mountains, while evening brings reflections and ship lights. No interior ticket is required for the public waterfront experience. Event, terminal and convention access follow their own schedules.
