The story
Major’s Hill Park and Kìwekì Point open a broad view across the Ottawa River, Parliament Hill, bridges and the Gatineau shore. Seen from here, the capital is less a row of facades and more a landscape shaped by water, elevation and movement between Ontario and Quebec.\n\nKìwekì Point was redesigned in collaboration with Algonquin Anishinabeg communities of Pikwàkanagàn and Kitigan Zibi. Its name and gathering form ask visitors to recognize that this is unceded Algonquin Anishinabe territory, not an empty viewpoint discovered by later institutions.\n\nWalk slowly through the park, then let one framed view hold your attention. Paths can change during events, construction, snow or ice. The outdoor spaces do not share one closing time, so follow current posted access and lighting conditions.
