Beacon Hill & Acorn Street
Gas-lit brick lanes under the gold State House dome, and Acorn Street's 1820s cobblestones. Steps from stops 2 and 3, best in early morning light.

The North End, eating this time
The trail already walks these streets at stops 12 and 13; come back hungry. Modern Pastry since 1930, Mike's since 1946, one block apart on Hanover Street, and Mike's takes only cash.

Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum
The night the whole trail leads up to: replica ships floating at Griffin's Wharf, the only surviving original tea chest, and you throw a chest overboard yourself.
